As a private equity principal, Prakhar focuses on Wellington’s private company investment activity in Asia. The firm currently sponsors a series of late-stage growth funds that seek capital appreciation through investments in late-stage companies looking for strategic capital to move to the next phase of development. He is responsible for identifying and pursuing investments in such private companies by working closely with portfolio managers, global industry analysts and other global research resources within the firm. 

Prakhar joined Wellington Management in 2020. Previously, he was vice president at Eight Roads Ventures, Fidelity’s proprietary private investment arm, where he focused on early stage investing in India and Southeast Asia. Before that, he was an engagement manager with McKinsey & Company.  

Prakhar earned his MBA from Indian Institute of Management - Calcutta (2011) and holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS – Pilani) (2005).
