Chen is a Portfolio Manager on the Private Real Estate Credit team. In this role, he is involved in all aspects of the deal process, and he leverages insights from the broader Wellington investment platform to originate, underwrite, and manage investments in private real estate credit. In addition, Chen manages and builds relationships with outside financing partners, including banks, sponsors, advisors, and issuers to help originate and underwrite new assets.

Prior to joining Wellington, Chen was a Senior Vice President on the U.S. Private CRE Debt team at PIMCO for 7 years, where he focused on sourcing, structuring, and managing commercial real estate debt investments. Previously, he worked in real estate acquisitions for CIM Group and WHI Real Estate Partners and worked in Real Estate Investment Banking for BMO Capital Markets. 

Chen earned a BS in Finance and International Business from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
