Emeka leads the firm’s investment activity in private placement debt, working with portfolio managers, global credit analysts, and other global research resources within the firm to identify and pursue investments. In addition, he is responsible for developing investment talent and leveraging Wellington’s research capabilities.
Prior to joining Wellington Management in 2022, Emeka worked as the head of private debt and was responsible for establishing the global infrastructure debt effort at Barings (1998 – 2022). He led both the private placement and the global infrastructure debt teams and was a member of the Global Private Structured Finance Investment Committee. Before that, he worked in commercial banking at Fleet Bank (1986 – 1998).
Emeka earned his MBA, MA, and BA from the University of New Haven. Additionally, he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute.
