Things to look out for
Fraudulent websites may copy Wellington official websites, text, images, logos, and other content. Be aware of variations in internet domains which include the word “Wellington” within their name.
Wellington does not use text messages to conduct business. Internet scammers frequently use text messages requesting the recipient to click through a link or engage in further conversation. These attempts may lead to phishing sites where scammers may attempt to steal passwords or to convince someone to purchase gift cards for the scammer.
Wellington Investment Management (WeChat ID: WellingtonIM) is our only official WeChat account in the PRC. Wellington will never request for personal information, direct payments, login credentials, one time password, and etc.
Be wary of emails with urgent language, requests for personal or confidential data, poor grammar, misspellings or an unrecognized sender email address. Do not click on links or open attached files if you have any concerns about an email’s validity. Ensure that your computer and mobile phone software and applications are updated timely.
Cyber criminals often attempt to coerce or pressure victims to make payments, respond to emails, or take related actions. Beware of any contact you receive which encourages you to make decisions or payments with urgency.
