Nelson is an investment specialist in Investment Product & Fund Strategies (IPFS), which is responsible for the business and investment oversight of certain investment strategies managed by Wellington Management. IPFS oversees all aspects of these investment strategies, including fund governance, product development, risk management, marketing, operations, and servicing of fund investors. IPFS also coordinates the strategy and message around the firm's full range of investment capabilities. In his role, he focuses on the firm’s private equity strategies. He works closely with private investors and investment directors, contributing to the development of new private equity products, helping ensure the integrity of the investment approaches in his coverage, and managing business issues and interdepartmental products as needed. He also helps coordinate the strategy, fundraising, and messaging internally and externally around the firm’s full range of private equity capabilities.

Prior to joining Wellington Management in 2021, Nelson was a senior associate in business development at Man Group (2018 – 2021). Before that, he worked as a vice president of operational due diligence at Cliffwater (2016 – 2018), and as an operational due diligence associate at Lyxor Asset Management (2014 – 2016). He also held positions previously as a manager at Ernst & Young and an associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Nelson earned his bachelor of business administration from the University of Buffalo, School of Management.
